I have been working with families since 2014 when I started in the field of social work. I believe that I cannot effectively work with the child if I do not collaborate with the parent. Parents hold the key to true transformation through applying and practicing the techniques introduced and learned during session and in-between sessions.
My personal story with childhood trauma, attachment, resiliency, caretaking, hope and faith inspired me to become a therapist. I always had a strong desire to support families to remain together and I deeply enjoy working with children.
Some of my strengths include that I am authentic, compassionate, accountable, and courageous. I treat the person as a whole, versus pathologically, by maintaining faith that healing is possible for everyone. Individuals need care that is tailored to their specific needs and I believe that by aligning with the client, they do not have to walk the path of healing alone.
I am a mother, a woman of faith in spirit, and I am approaching 3 years of recovery from substances. I believe we are all journeying through this life the best we can and although we might fall at times, the most important factor in life is how and with whom we rise.
